Dilahirkan di Kabupaten Selayar, 12 Juli 1964, menyelesaikan S1 Sarjana Kedoteran Hewan di Institut Pertanian Bogor Fakultas Kedokteran Hewan pada tahun 1987, dan Profesi Dokter Hewan pada FKH-IPB tahun 1988, menyelesaiakan program master di Miyazaki University Japan tahun 1997, lalu menyelesaikan program Doktor di Universitas Hasanuddin tahun 2005. Penulis menjadi guru besar pada tahun 2009 dalam bidang Teknologi Hasil Ternak khususnya Bioteknologi Pengolahan Susu. Penulis menjadi dosen tetap Fakultas Peternakan mulai tahun 1989 sampai sekarang.

Dilahirkan di Bone tahun 1964, menyelesaikan S1 di Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Hasanuddin tahun 1988, menyelesaikan pendidikan master di Faculty of Agriculture di Miyazaki University Japan tahun 1995, dan menyelesaikan Program Doktor di Kagoshima University Japan tahun 1998. Penulis menjadi Guru Besar pada tahun 2005, bidang Pemuliaan Ternak Sapi dan Managemen.
