How Do Women Entrepreneurs Arise Amid Covid-19 Crisis?

This book discusses the impact of COVID-19 on the entrepreneur sector. COVID-19 creates crises and risks in various sectors such as health, economy, care, professional work, and health governance. One strategy in dealing with the virus is to increase cooperation with other countries such as cooperation in the G20. Countries that are members of the G20 synergize in several sectors such as health, economy, and trade. The G20 countries also focus on more specific cooperation such as increasing social protection for vulnerable groups, including the elderly, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), and SMEs and low-wage workers.

Corona Virus-19 has become a challenge for all countries in the world to work together in combating the pandemic, some rules and regulations are made by each country following the conditions and situation. This book discusses collaboration with South Korea. Indonesia sees that South Korea is a country with a creative industrial sector that can play a major role in the growth of its national economy. This collaboration aims to support the government’s strategy in utilizing the potential of Indonesia’s natural resources by increasing development and providing opportunities for SMEs and MSMEs and other entrepreneurial sectors to contribute. The role of MSMEs (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) or UKM (Small and Medium Enterprises) is very important in Indonesia’s economic growth because of its enormous and crucial contribution to improving the welfare of the Indonesian people during the COVID-19 period.

This book also discusses the role of women in the entrepreneurial sector. Through the empowerment program, women will be trained to have skills, especially in processing natural products. Women’s involvement in the entrepreneurship sector can improve family welfare and also the family economy can be better. Increased participation of women in the world of entrepreneurship can be as a creator or beneficiary. Empowering women in conflict areas are also considered to be very important, given the number of women with violence especially on sexual violence. Governments and other stakeholders’ participations are needed in post-conflict recovery and empowerment efforts for women and children in conflict areas. Therefore, to continuously improve the empowerment of the role of women not only in the national sphere but also internationally in all sectors including entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurs act as drivers of the economic sector. They have initiatives in developing business to be more developed. Therefore, entrepreneurs also hold important controls in the country’s economic sector. Entrepreneurs have roles as innovators to increase the creativity and ability of the community in developing creative ideas so that people, especially women, are no longer depend on the government. The involvement of women in an economic sector especially in business is one of the forms of women empowerment that is ultimately expected to support their families welfare.
